Meet the Team

General Manager

Ricky Lai

Ricky Lai is the General Manager of EFM Group, with responsibilities ranging from operations to strategy.

He previously directed the management of office facilities and hospitality services for a leading financial media and data multinational across Greater China, Australasia, and the Americas, where his teams were pivotal to the successful execution of real estate, design, and construction processes.

These facilities involved annual operational budgets in the tens of millions of US dollars. The largest of them would see daily people traffic counts above ten thousand.

His additional professional experiences include equity research, display advertising account management, and international trade event management.

As an MBA holder educated in Hong Kong, the US, and the UK, Ricky is proficient in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Creative Director

Emanuela Frattini Magnusson

Emanuela Frattini Magnusson is a Milan-born architect and designer based in New York, founder and president of EFM Design - an award-winning, multi-disciplinary practice. The firm's output includes architecture, interiors, product design, brand development and graphics.

She held the position of Global Head of Design at Bloomberg LP where she worked at the intersection of design and planning to create an expression of the corporate culture that matches the mission of the company at an international scope.

She has created award-winning, top selling products for leading manufacturers. Emanuela has also served as a visiting faculty member at Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute and at Yale University School of Architecture.

Her architectural and design work has been widely published. A Master's graduate in architecture at the Milan Politecnico, she is a licensed architect in both the USA and Italy. and holds an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business. She is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited.

Project Director

Susana Cheung

Susana Cheung encompasses over 40 years experience from Hong Kong’s real estate development, construction and project management industries.

She has held positions as senior manager and associate for established companies including Hong Kong Land, Hutchison Group, Chesterton Petty and Richard Ellis (now CBRE).

Since she joined Bloomberg’s APAC facilities team 30 years ago, Susana has been managing offices in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand and the Philippines. For the past 10 years, her responsibilities have grown to managing capital projects in Hong Kong, Japan and Australia, as well as challenges of high design workspaces. These include new staircases, training centers, auditoriums, large pantries and fishtanks, as well as managing the technical complexities of the growing network of Bloomberg’s broadcast studios in Asia.

Susana is proficient in Cantonese, English and Mandarin.
